Essential Information
Best Time to Visit
July–September for whale watching. April–December generally excellent. January–March is cyclone season with some disruptions possible.
Visa Requirements
Tourist visa available on arrival at Ivato Airport – $37 USD for 30 days. Passport must be valid for 6 months. Bring 2 passport photos.
Health & Safety
Malaria prophylaxis recommended for eastern coastal regions. Yellow fever certificate required if coming from endemic country. Travel insurance with evacuation coverage mandatory.
